Collected Foods kitchen recipe.
Decidedly Not-Sweet Granola with Aleppo: Bakery-style warmth from the spice drawer, not a mix. Collected Foods Aleppo Pepper is the flavor driver.
Serves: makes about 4 cups
Why this spice: Collected Foods Aleppo Pepper keeps this savory granola snacky and chili-bright instead of breakfast-sweet.
Ingredients
- 3 cups old-fashioned oats
- 1 cup mixed nuts, chopped
- 1/2 cup seeds (pumpkin or sunflower)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey (just enough to bind)
- 1.5 tsp Collected Foods Aleppo Pepper
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 egg white, lightly beaten (optional, for clusters)
Directions
- Heat oven to 325°F. Mix oats, nuts, seeds, oil, maple, Aleppo Pepper, salt, garlic powder, and egg white if using.
- Spread on a lined sheet. Bake 30–35 minutes, stirring once, until golden.
- Cool completely; it crisps as it cools. Store airtight up to 2 weeks.
- Eat by the handful, on salads, or over savory yogurt.
