Saigon Cinnamon Apple Crisp Skillet

Saigon Cinnamon Apple Crisp Skillet

Serves: 6

Why this spice: Collected Foods Saigon Cinnamon is bold and sweet-woody — exactly what bubbling skillet apples need under a crunchy oat topping.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups sliced apples (about 2 1/2 lb)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, divided
  • 1 1/2 tsp Collected Foods Saigon Cinnamon, divided
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 3/4 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • Pinch salt
  • Vanilla ice cream or yogurt, optional

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375°F. Toss apples with half the brown sugar, 1 tsp Saigon Cinnamon, lemon, and cornstarch. Spread in a 10-inch oven-safe skillet.
  2. Rub oats, flour, remaining sugar, remaining cinnamon, salt, and butter into a crumbly topping. Scatter over apples.
  3. Bake 30–35 minutes until fruit bubbles and topping is golden.
  4. Cool 10 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or yogurt.

Mix tart and sweet apples so the filling stays bright, not one-note sugary.
